introduction
In this course, students investigate design concepts in 3d and 4d.  Students will examine design elements, such as form, shape, scale, surface texture and light and shadow. Students will also explore kinetic and time-based design.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of materials in the execution of 3d and 4d design.

Use perceptual skills to enhance the recognition of forms, planes and values in time and space.

Employ critical thinking in logically and intelligently defended statements utilizing The Four Steps of Criticism (description, formal analysis, interpretation, and judgment).

To provide the initial intellectual tools, background, and language for evaluation and discussion of works of art.

To distinguish how art forms are developed and constructed.

To provide a useful foundation for analyzing art works in the students’ future studio specialties.

Apply hands-on art making processes to express both visual and conceptual ideas.
